SpeedUpMyPC 2013 free scan for checking errors affecting PC speed

SpeedUpMyPC Review

SpeedUpMyPC 2013 has been released and it claims to give computers a boost in performance by scanning and identifying problem areas that affect the performance of the PC and then resolving those issues quickly and easily with just a few clicks. The software is composed of a many tweaks that boost system resource management, optimize system and network settings and get rid of junk files that may be bloating your hard disk. The following review is from the older version.  The newest version of the program can be purchased separately but it is an integral part of the PowerSuite 2013 program in the Speed Tools and the System Optimization process. See the review of the process here.

We will have a review of SpeedUpMyPC 2013 posted shortly, until then here is a screenshot of the sleek new interface:

The New SpeedUpMyPC Main Interface

Before running SpeedUpMyPC, I took a screenshot of the size of my hard drive.  As you can see, the C Drive is dangerously low on free space.  This program claims to reduce that size by removing a bunch of unnecessary junk files and thus speeding up the computer.

Hard Drive space is dangerously low

The program can be used as a standalone program but it also is part of the Uniblue PowerSuite. This screenshot shows SpeedUpMyPC running a scan to see the issues that may affect the performance of this computer.  This program regards an issue as a potential optimization that increases computer performance.  The major functions of RegistryBooster have now been combined within the SpeedUpMyPC optimization software to create a very powerful application to keep your computer up to speed.

PowerSuite Screenshot

Once the application was launched, the Speed Scan tab showed the three different categories in more detail.  The System Tweaks and Speed Tools speed loss bar showed a critical level of unresolved issues while the Junk Files was only Serious.  You can view the different categories in greater detail if you choose.  Looks like most of the problems found were in the junk files section.  Most of the unnecessary files are located in the Windows temporary folder and the User temporary folder, the Recycle Bin is empty.  I wanted these issues fixed to speed up my pc, considering the fact that Uniblue is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, so I smacked the Fix Issues Button.

SpeedUpMyPC shows the errors found

When it was finished, I was informed that all of the issues have been resolved and that I should keep SpeedUpMyPC running to ensure that the speed tools remain enabled and to scan my PC regularly to keep it running faster.

The errors are all fixed

Now the SpeedUpMyPC System Barometer is pointing to sunny and tells me there are no issues slowing down this system.  Quick and easy, that is a good thing.

There are no issues with this computer

All of the speed tools and system tweaks can be managed through the Manage tab.  The CPU Manager, Software Launch Booster, Proactive Thumbnail Generator and the Start Menu Software Accelerator can be disabled if you choose. The same goes for all of the System Tweaks that were performed.  Gives the power user a few things to play with.

The SpeedUpMyPC Manage Tab

By cleaning out all of the temporary junk files, the free disk space went from 2.12 Gigabytes up to a more comfortable 3.57 Gigs of free space.  That is almost a gig and a half of free space added.  Impressive.

The Hard Drive space after running SpeedUpMyPC is noticeably higher

The best way to measure the performance of the PC is by using it and I notice quite a bit more performance on this computer.  The apps open faster, the startup is faster and the overall performance is noticeable.  We have been reviewing this product through many previous versions and it has never failed to accomplish the tasks that it claims to be able to perform.

SpeedUpMyPC 2013 is a very easy to use program that performs optimization tasks that are necessary to keep a computer running at its peak performance.  The program does what it claims to do and is easy to use.  For those reasons, Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC once again gets an honorable Brontobyte on a Scale of Bytes to Brontobytes and is a recommended computer optimization utility to have in your arsenal of PC tools.

SppedUpMyPC 2013

SpeedUpMyPC 2013 can be purchased separately to fix speed issues or it can be purchased and managed through the Uniblue PowerSuite at a better price.  Either way it is a top performer in the computer optimization arena.  It is composed of a wide range of optimization tools that can be implemented with one quick scan.  The errors found are fixed and the optimization tweaks are implemented with one click of the mouse.  The new version of SpeedUpMyPC now has all of the registry cleaner functions that used to be available in the RegistryBooster application with many new features available to keep your PC running like new.  The integration of these two tools makes SpeedUpMyPC a very powerful and effective computer optimization utility.  Try a free scan to see what SpeedUpMyPC can do for your computer.

I review this kind of software everyday. I think that if you don't want to go through the manual steps like on http://fixingaslowcomputer.com I would definitely recommend buying this software it makes it so much easier!

I have to say this program helped me at least, regardless of the previous comments... and I only even used the free version. My new computer had an irritating problem where the mouse would freeze and become jerky occasionally. Windows also randomly became inactive, which is very irritating when trying to work as a professional in a capability which requires typing. I tested the mouse and stopped using IE, some of the most obvious causes this did nothing. I DL'd this, and ran only the freeware version which removes 15 problems, and the computer now works perfectly and both problems are gone. So this definitely does work to at least some extent, and I certainly might buy the full version at some point.

So glad I read your comments. UniBlue has the slickest moustrap in the business. I almost got caught. I have a 10 year old HP zt3000 running XP that I use for work every day. Always looking for ways to improve performance. I replaced 512MB w/2GB, wow!

Well: I certainly must agree with Olav the Viking. To be honest I got this heap of dung when trying to download some other software, it sort of snuck up on me, and my system hasn't been the same since. Fortunately I am migrating to Linux which should end the era of what I like to refer to as the Microsoft Virus... upgrade upgrade spend more mony, have a problem with MS here's a friend you can pay for a solutiion. Just tried installing Linux Mint via Firefox over the net, took 3 days but it was a joy. To add to this there is even a chat room you can get immediate support. So my advice, innoculate against Microsoft and get Linux. P.S. The new Google chrome isn't much better, now going to Firefox.

instalation de produit achete

Wow! Olav the Viking is on a rampage about something. Don’t want to start a fight with him but I totally disagree with his post. I have been using the Powersuite for a couple years on all my home computers. If friends of mine complain about a slow computer, Uniblue products are the first product I recommend. Most of the time they install and fix the broken computers without my help. That is a bonus if you ask me. Chill Viking...

1. Rate this product: Abysmal 0.5/5 Stars 2. One-line summary: UniBlue SpeedUpMyPC 2012 - Don't waste your money! 3. Pros: If you like sexy dashboards and glorified reports, this POS is for you. You will have a warm and fuzzy feeling for the $60 you waste on the software. 4. Cons: Uses 80+ MB of system memory. Uses 18-22% of system CPU resources. Actually degraded the operation of the system. Included, "free" System Tweaker had fewer features than the free Microsoft download for XP, TweakUI. I'm an IT who has been in the process control industry, programmed in assembly language and now that I'm retired after 35+ years, I help friends with their PCs and home networks. The latest project was to find out why a person's laptop PC was running so slowly. The reason - she had been duped into purchasing UniBlue PowerSuit. She actually said that although the software claimed to have found and fixed thousands of errors (which I saw the reports said) and "cleaned" the registry, the PC showed absolutely no improvement and sometimes locked up and froze. Using Windows Task Manager to analyze the system, I found out that the two major components of this package of dung, powersuite.exe and sump.exe were using a combined 80+ MB of memory and 18-22% of system CPU resources. I told her, with no sugar coating: "This P.O.S. needs to come out first before I'll work on your PC. I don't have it on any of the PCs on my home network and I haven't seen it on any of the 100+ PCs I've worked on in the past few years." She also had driver scanner installed, but my approach was to not spend a lot of time analyzing the total package. I ripped it completely out and the PC immediately started to run better, which is a no-brainer since there was only 512MB of ram in her PC and the 80+ MB of memory wasted by these to programs only put the PC deeper in debt to the swapfile. She did need memory, and guess what - for 2GB of memory costing $56, she got an honest increase in performance for less money than she wasted on this marketing-hyped-up POS. The included, "free" System Tweaker had fewer features than the free Microsoft download for XP, TweakUI. I sincerely hope that people read this review before they decide to buy this software and understand what I'm saying now: 1) No software will ever make up for inadequacies in the hardware, but will usually make the problem worse. 2) If your physical memory is less than your peak memory usage, you are using the disk swapfile and your PC will run much slower. Get out your wallet, spend the money on memory, and smile, knowing that you did the right thing.
