The Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC computer optimization program combines a variety of performance boosting tools that identify and repair system faults that may slow down your system. This new version speeds up your computer by utilizing resource management and optimizing system and network settings. The PC optimization utility also cleans the computer of unnecessary junk files and unused background processes that can slow your computer down to a crawl.
This review of SpeedUpMyPC is being done on a system recently loaded with Windows 7 Professional. The previous testing of the program yielded noticeable performance increases. This is a fresh load of Windows so the performance may not be noticeable or measurable but the idea is to keep this computer running at its peak performance. SpeedUpMyPC also keeps computers running like new by taking a proactive approach to keeping it running fast and smooth.
This utility is an integral part of Uniblue PowerSuite 2012 that combines SpeedUpMyPC, RegistryBooster and DriverScanner into one neat bundle to ensure top computer performance at all times. The installation of SpeedUpMyPC was uneventful and when it was finished I was given the option to launch the program so I did so. It immediately started scanning the computer and showed the following results telling me that there were 3,303 possible improvements needed to be implemented for a faster PC. Uniblue is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner so Naturally I smacked the Speed up Now button.
When it was done, it told me so and also suggested that I use this program with the full Uniblue PowerSuite which is a no brainer anyway. It said to keep the program running and do regular scans to keep the speed tools enabled and keep the system running faster.
The System Barometer shows that there are no improvements needed to make this PC faster at this time and all components of the PowerSuite are installed and good to go.
The Speed Scan tab shows the tools available for computer optimization and the speed loss status bar. The speed loss status bar shows an evaluation of how slowly your PC is running compared to if all the recommended improvements were implemented. Therefore, the higher the number of improvements found, the faster your computer could run. Looks like this computer is doing well.
Under the Manage tab is where you can enable or disable the Speed Tools which accelerate operating system performance, file navigation and software launch. The three tools available under this tab are the CPU Manager, Proactive Thumbnail Generator and the Software Quick-Starter.
There are more settings available to give you the power over when and how SpeedUpMyPC should start and some other available preference settings but for the most part, that is the review of SpeedUpMyPC. It is a handy program to speed up a slow computer or to keep your computer running as fast as possible.
As with all of the Uniblue products we have tested and reviewed, Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC gets an honorable Brontobyte on a scale of Bytes to Brontobytes.
