The New Features of Acronis True Image Home

The release of Acronis True Image Home 2012 is here and it is packed with many new features to help you protect your precious data from being lost forever.  Acronis has added New Windows 7 Integration to enable seamless integration into the Windows control panel.  Friendlier user interfaces makes it easier than ever to backup and restore your data. The new Extended Capacity Manager to allow you to take advantage of more than 2 Terabytes of external storage that some versions of Windows may not allow.  Also new is the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager that allows you to restore an unbootable PC with the touch of the F11 key instead of booting from flash drives or a CD.  See our review of True Image 2012. 

The previous versions of the backup software worked quite flawlessly and did a great job of keeping data safe.  The newest version has many attributes that will give you piece of mind that your data will always be safe and secure.  Here is a review some of the new features of Acronis True Image Home .

Acronis Nonstop Backup

This feature gives you Continuous Data Protection that will allow you to roll back your entire computer or individual files and folders to anytime in the past.  If you make a mistake and delete a file or mess up your entire system, Acronis Nonstop Backup is your savior. 

When the Nonstop Backup feature is turned on, changes to the selected partitions will be backed up every five minutes ensuring near continuous data protection.  You will then be able to easily roll back to any previous file and folder state and recover your data using the Acronis Time Explorer. 

Acronis Time Explorer

Restoring is just as simple with the new Acronis Time Explorer. Just use the time line feature to find the exact time or version of what you want to restore, and click Recover.

Acronis Online Backup

We have always been a fan of Online Backups to give that extra insurance that important data will always be safe and secure.   Now Acronis has added this feature to Acronis True Image Home allowing you to automatically store your sensitive backup files in a secure and safe location.  Too many things can happen to destroy your data - Fires, Hurricanes, Floods etc. Protect your data before it is too late. Acronis Plus Pack add-on

This feature has been available to corporate users for quite some time and now it is available to home users.  The Acronis Universal Restore feature allows you to restore an image to dissimilar hardware or a virtual machine.  This means that if your computer totally dies for whatever reason, you can simply get another one and restore the image to the new one instead of reinstalling everything all over again.

Virtual Hard Disk Support

Acronis True Image Home supports virtualization and can convert your backup images (.tib files) into virtual hard disk (.vhd) files and vice versa. Restore an operating system from .vhd files, and even boot from .vhd images of Windows 7.

Dynamic Disk and GPT Support

Dynamic Disk and GPT Support is now available to Acronis True Image Home users. Dynamic Disk technology lets you merge multiple disks into one large drive. All True Image Home functionality is 100% supported on simple, spanned, and striped dynamic disks.

Boot from an Archive

This new feature will allow you to boot from your backup image file so you can be sure that it will work for you when you need it without doing the actual restoration.

New Try&Decide capabilities

This feature allows you to use Try&Decide without creating Acronis Secure Zone, as virtual changes made in the Try&Decide mode can be saved on a partition or even an external hard drive. Try&Decide can protect from unauthorized changes several partitions or disks. In addition, operation in the Try&Decide mode has become much more stable.

New Validation Tools

New validation tools are available and they offer easier and more convenient ways to validate your backups. Ensure your backup images are valid, safe, and ready for you when and if disaster strikes and you need to restore your computer.

New Powerful Scheduler

The new scheduler is powerful and flexible to use than ever before. Acronis True Image Home has expanded the set of already existed scheduling options. The new scheduler allows you to specify the date when a scheduled task should run for the first time.
